Every counterfeit is designed to resemble the real thing.

The same is often true of spiritual deception. It rarely presents itself as obvious darkness. It may sound biblical, feel passionate, and even appear to produce real results. At the same time, something unfamiliar or uncomfortable is not automatically wrong simply because it falls outside what we have experienced before.

So how do we tell the difference between what is genuine and what only looks genuine?

With this message we continue our Holy Spirit series with Part 15 - "The Gift of Discernment: Wisdom for What’s Behind What’s Happening."

Together, we will explore how the Holy Spirit gives His people wisdom to distinguish between what is from God, what is merely human, and what may be deceptive or destructive.

We will learn why discernment is biblical rather than cynical, how it protects people from deception and harm, and why it works best within humble, accountable community.

Discernment does not believe everything, and it does not reject everything.

It tests everything and holds fast to what is good.
